Parthenon on 86th St.

Im a big fan of Gyros.  Specifically  the kind that comes fresh sliced of the spit that rotates upright in front of the broiler.  Crispy outside with flavorful  and jucy inner slices.

Fresh homemade  Tziki sauce with good strong onion slices and fresh tomatoes.  Exactly like they serve here.

The Greek potatoes  were bright and lemony.

The owners, i believe are Egyptian.  One of the special  dishes on the menu is Koshari, an Egyptian dish made of rice, macaroni and lentils mixed together, topped with a tomato-vinegar sauce, pesto,  and crispy fried onions. A sprinkling of garlic juice and hot sauce are often added.

I always  come back here.  You should too.
