Parthenon on 86th St.

Im a big fan of Gyros.  Specifically  the kind that comes fresh sliced of the spit that rotates upright in front of the broiler.  Crispy outside with flavorful  and jucy inner slices.

Fresh homemade  Tziki sauce with good strong onion slices and fresh tomatoes.  Exactly like they serve here.

The Greek potatoes  were bright and lemony.

The owners, i believe are Egyptian.  One of the special  dishes on the menu is Koshari, an Egyptian dish made of rice, macaroni and lentils mixed together, topped with a tomato-vinegar sauce, pesto,  and crispy fried onions. A sprinkling of garlic juice and hot sauce are often added.

I always  come back here.  You should too.

Local Beer Scene

Having  recently  relocated to the Indianapolis  area, i was missing   some of the great local beers that i had access to in Evansville.  (Tin Man and Carsons)

I recently discovered Sunking.  So far i like the Sunlight Cream Ale.

Kale chips. Meh

Love fried kale.  Found these tonight at Trader Joes.

Imho...they need salt...and to be deep fried.  Found in the small print. ...cold air dried.  I will not buy these again.   12 carbs per serving.   Why?  Because they add sugar.   1☆

He lives!

I have not have the opportunity for a few years to update this blog. But I'm back and I'm eating, normal and weird stuff. So stay tuned gentle readers.

"The tase of human flesh is not for everyone"

Is there anything that bacon can not make taste better?

"In a post apocalyptic world, condiments will be key"

Worst Written Restaurant Review...evar?

"The tables were well stocked with condiments, the silverware and napkins were substantial, and the uniformed waitress was pleasant and attentive."

While I have always been a fan of 'substantial silverware", I can not say that I have ever rated a restaurant experience on it's flatware.

In all fairness, I should mention that this snippet is from a reader review and is not the writing of a professional journalist or "foodie".

I should also mention that the review was of the snack bar at the Shrinner's Hall. (The Red Fez)
